    Retroac­tive his­tor­i­cal mod­i­fi­ca­tion. Causal­ity is over­rated anyways.

    Much of the mess he walked into, inher­ited, didn’t unfold pub­licly, until after he was in office. Hard to keep promises when you’re blind­sighted by locked clos­ets full of dis­as­ters you didn’t know about.
