I’m running into a problem with my writing that I really hadn’t anticipated. I’m writing way ahead of schedule which means I haven’t actually had the chance to plan out what I want to happen next.

I’m about to finish story number 4 and I have no idea what story 5 is. :)

Wish I had that issue, I am totally stuck.

Hmmmmmmmm, this might be a wee bit out there, but if you’re way ahead of schedule, perhaps a step back and some planning might be in order? :-P

You could try leaving a placeholder and jumping ahead in your story.

I’m a little reluctant to lose my momentum though +Christie Cannon. The weekend is usually the most productive part of my week. Which makes it about the worst time to just be thinking about stuff.

Yeah, I get it. Have you tried writing off the cuff before, without planning ahead?

I actually don’t plan very much. I usually have an opening scene, a character and where it’s going to end up.

But right now I have… a character and a handful of unresolved sub-plots that I don’t want to use this early on.

Use em or lose em. Just write.
