It has been suggested to me that writing about the number of followers I now have might in some way be seen as egotistical, gauche or otherwise tacky.
So I’ll just post a picture instead.
Welcome new followers. I hope I’m saying something interesting.

Jeeze! Quite I jump, there.
Actually it’s slowed down a bit this week. I’m not sure why I’m getting so many circles but it looks I’m averaging 500 a week now.
Of course most of them have never said a word to me or +1d a post so…
Did you put your name on one of the websites? 500 per week is ridunculous!
Well there are plenty of people who get far more than that. But they’re either:
A) Female
or
B) Somebody
I am neither of these things so yeah… crazy numbers.
Some of them come from circle shares, beyond that I don’t know.
oh, I was definitely taking into account your lack of boobs/vagina/social status when I made my statement…
I am experiencing the same… but don’t have nifty chart. How do I find the nifty chart?

+Eoghann Irving your posts are consistently interesting and real. Bravo.
I love statistics and charts. You and a few other people I can think of are pretty well what I would imagine are the perfect G+ers. Consistently interesting content on a frequent enough basis (but not so frequent as to feel twittery). Anyway… congratulations?
Thanks for posting this. My own graph looks impressive — and I can see 8 days ago I gained 66 in one day. Any idea if I can expand that graph’s time frame?
Unfortunately I don’t know any way to adjust the graph. The table below it gives the entire history from whenever they started tracking you.
Cool, that’s more followers than I have.
Is it weird being stalked by so many strangers?
No, but admittedly I’ve never been very concerned about privacy online. That may be a very male perspective for me to have.
Mainly I’m flattered and also somewhat mystified by the interest.
I wish there was a way to measure interactions. From what I gather of your online personality you would rather have a smaller number or a slower-climbing graph if it meant those people would actually comment and interact.
Yes I would. It’s nice to have all these followers, but if they don’t offer an opinion it’s hard to do much with them. I can’t even really tell if they click on the links I post.
