Biggest Android Failures of 2011

Android has been on a steady rise throughout 2011, but there were a few hiccups on the way and this is a list of the eleven biggest.

I’m biased, for me it was the Galaxy Nexus Verizon release débâcle. But I imagine that people with existing phones will point to the delays that custom skins cause in getting OS updates.

From what I see, it is more about specific products being botched than about the operating system or the ecosystem itself. As for the 3D devices, well, heh. I don’t care and doubt many other people care, too.

Well I think the fact that no one cares about the 3D devices is the failure. :)

Actually, other than the revue and the nexus launch, those all sound like OPPs…and the nexus launch is borderline.

Yeah, iPhones don’t have unlimited data either. How is that an android failure? Even the Verizon 4g issues aren’t android failures. Those are Verizon failures. The Xoom was partly Google’s fault. They didn’t get the sdcard working for awhile. And when they did they didn’t release an app to work with it. All the file managers in the market needed to be rewritten. And I guess Google didn’t tell them how to do it. Finally a guy made one for his personal use. Decided to put it in the market.
