If they can per­fect these devices it would pro­vide an easy test to catch can­cer very early and poten­tially dra­mat­i­cally reduce the risk it poses.

Ear­lier this year, we found out that dogs can be trained to suc­cess­fully detect can­cer on the breath of humans — but we’re still not sure exactly what smell it is they’re respond­ing to.

    There’s a Chi­nese doc­tor in St. Louis that can rec­og­nize can­cer by smell (per my mom who has met the man).
