The latest rumor about the supposed $199 Nexus Tablet is that Google may have partnered with ASUS to produce the 7″ 1280×800 machine and that it may run a Quad-Core Tegra 3 processor.
If that’s the case it would be extremely competitive with the Kindle Fire with the advantage of running Ice Cream Sandwich and all the Google apps.

What’s the difference between a Google tablet and an Android tablet?
The brand. And the fact that, if it’s Google who gives it a name, you can trust it more than if it is a no-name android tablet you buy at dealextreme.
Well if they follow the phone model +Nobilis Reed then there will be no skin on top of Android 4.0, boot loader will be unlocked (for easy hacking) and the updates will come direct from Google.
It’s the tablet as Google thinks they should be done.
Why wouldn’t they just have Moto build it? Confused

Motorola is functioning as a separate company. Which means for the moment they’ll have to bid on these things like everyone else.
Presumably ASUS had the product that Google was looking for at the price they wanted.
