This has the potential to be a big year for Netflix. The complaint I hear regularly is that there aren’t enough new movies. That isn’t going to change any time soon because Netflix just can’t afford to outbid everyone else.
But what they have done is play to their strengths in offering more and more tv shows. This latest deal adds even more shows to that collection. Combine that with their upcoming originals House of Cards and Arrested Development and maybe Netflix can finally break free from the notion that they’re a place to get movies for cheap.
What they are is a source of vast amounts of video content.

I love the TV selection on Netflix.
I don’t really care about the new movies. What I use Netflix for is finding those OLD movies I missed or don’t own and want to see. Also, documentaries and TV shows! There are plenty of new movie sources.
