Sometimes I just can’t figure out why my followers number goes up or down
Take the last couple of days for instance. Today I’ve apparently gained some 50+ people. Yet I haven’t actually posted very much and none of it particularly special.
Yesterday I was down 6 people (presumably a net loss on people I’ve gained during the day as well). That clearly was motivated either by my cosplay pics, the news that LEGO is doing a Marvel Superheroes game or being unable to tolerate the notion that Google isn’t evil just because they didn’t build apps for Windows Phone.
Perhaps Google does some sort of weekly spam account deletion? It’s weird.

I seem to be really popular among Russian mail order brides
They do apparently, I thought it was on Fridays…
Don’t worry about the numbers.
Have you read any of my posts +Geof Fantastico? Worrying about numbers is about half of my day.
I have never looked to see who is following me.
Oh I don’t look at who +Barbie Black. I just look at the numbers. And preferablly at the patterns of the numbers.
Mostly there’s a pattern to it. A slow upward trend that will increase when I’m more active. A circle share gives me a bump. One of my controversial posts and the number slides.
That’s all understandable and expected. It’s these weird random days that bug me.
+Eoghann Irving exactly my observation too
I didn’t get to post much own stuff this year yet — but the circle shares and “hangovers” from Christmas and New year posts seem to become effective just now .…
I attended a one-on-one session with a social media consultant today (gods, even typing that out sounds weird…); apparently, I’ve been doing most of my networking all wrong. I need to develop trust with my ‘aggregates’ individually, this way, they will encourage others to follow me and, in doing so, build my network for me instead of me, chasing more followers.
So, lunch tomorrow, then? My treat?
I feel so used +Leonard Sultana .
See, I don’t assume a loss means a dissatisfaction with my content. I just figure those are deleted accounts, due to individual decisions or G+ cleaning up spammy accounts. Perhaps this is my brain being kind to me but I like my rose colored glasses so I’ll keep them on for a little while longer.
Oh I can definitely spot instances where it’s what I’ve posted that’s triggered mass uncircling +Patricia Elizabeth. But usually I know that before I post.
The random drops bug me because there isnt’ a pattern. If I knew that Google’s Spambot Account Deletion Tool V1.3 ran every Wednesday Morning and Friday Afternoon.. I’d be happy again.
Since it’s Google however, they probably run it on some weird schedule based off of Pi or something.
