Waste Not Want Not

I think most peo­ple rec­og­nize that west­ern soci­eties are waste­ful. But do you real­ize how waste­ful. Half of the food pro­duced ends up as waste. That’s an incred­i­ble fig­ure when you con­sider how many starv­ing peo­ple there are in the world.

Almost as bad we are wast­ing huge amounts of water on what are essen­tially lux­u­ries choco­late (my per­sonal weak­ness) being eas­ily the worst offender.

This is a fail­ure of orga­ni­za­tion as much as any­thing else.
