I think most people recognize that western societies are wasteful. But do you realize how wasteful. Half of the food produced ends up as waste. That’s an incredible figure when you consider how many starving people there are in the world.
Almost as bad we are wasting huge amounts of water on what are essentially luxuries chocolate (my personal weakness) being easily the worst offender.
This is a failure of organization as much as anything else.
