Wii U Sales Plummet

Apparently the Wii U has sold 940,000 units in the US in the three months since it’s launch.

Not a great number, but not actually horrific. It’s more for example than the XBox 360 or PS 3 sold in the same time frame. Though it’s far weaker than previously Nintendo systems and may be a sign that the brand is eroding.

But the big worry is the slump. 890,000 units were sold in November and December. Which means only 50,000 were sold in January… That’s less than the 67,000 the original Wii managed in October.

Admittedly January is a bad month for console sales, but Nintendo must be praying those numbers pick up.
