Apparently this is the first of 19 new 2D animated shorts that mix character design from the 1920s, background design from the 1950s and 60s and modern animation styles.
I think they may be onto something.

It could be my age, or maybe that and the fine work done on this production, but this is really what I miss in cartoons today. This is the style Mickey and friends I grew up with. I see this retro look as the best thing ever for old Mick and the gang.
I definitely think this approach is better than trying to modernize the character design as they have sometimes previously.
I like it
No not worth it i’m use to the 60’s and newer ways this is too old school for me, plus i don’t agree with the bowling down of nuns that is something Disney wouldn’t allow to happen makes me wonder if this is really a Disney product. Or a pirated Disney logo one.
I like this. If done right, going with a a more classic look is always good! And like +Paul Bucalo said this is a little more like what I remember good cartoons being like. The style of storytelling and humor is wonderful. And +Eoghann Irving , I remember this Mickey: http://mayorettes.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/minnie_and_mickey_mouse-4966.jpg
Proof that modernization may be quaint at the time, but awful in retrospect!
